Fiscally sponsored projects have varied origin stories. Some come from grassroots and community leaders who seek support from philanthropy through their relationship with a fiscal sponsor. Others come from philanthropy as expressions of its programmatic priorities, who seek fiscal sponsors as platforms and implementing partners. Some sponsors have a mix of both kinds of projects. Some sponsors specialize, by accident or intention, in one or the other type of relationship.
We observe both similarities and differences between these two types of relationships. Join us for a conversation about the different dynamics that can arise depending on originating impetus of a fiscally sponsored project.
