Vision 10/10

A Strategic Vision & 2030 Plan

DOWNLOAD THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In 10 years we want to see…

  • 10,000 strong fiscal sponsors, operating according to healthy practices, supporting at least 100,000 projects.

  • 10,000 supportive funders that understand fiscal sponsorship and formally embrace it as a solution.

It’s not just about big numbers, it’s also about intention.

  • Diversity, equity, inclusion, and power sharing/shifting will remain our commitment from our direct services work, to the tools and practices gathered on our commons.

  • We will continue to focus on regional and specialized sponsors between $1M and $50M in budget that can balance economies of scale with direct community touch and trust.

  • In supporting new sponsors, we will focus on sponsorship deserts: geographies, mission areas, communities of identity that are lacking this critical infrastructure.

  • We will continue to seek organizations well positioned to be sponsors (e.g., hub organizations, associations, community foundations) where there are existing capacities and established lines of trust with communities.

Behind these audacious goals are key assumptions.

  • Social Impact Commons succeeds in unifying the community under one support and service organization stewarding a range of field-building resources.

  • We are directly supporting, as constituent members and supporters/beneficiaries of our resources, about 10% of the field at any given time.

  • Our support to sponsors and funders, over the span of a relationship, can take a variety of forms, from direct services, to convening, to access to DIY tools and resources.

  • We get to our 10/10 goals through a combination of identifying, convening, and gathering basic data on sponsors and funders not yet part of the community of practice, as well as directly supporting new sponsors and new sponsored grantmakers.

Our three strategic goals and framework.
