Managing Your Treasury - Banking, Investments, & Risk Mitigation

With ongoing questions over the stability of banks and the impending congressional fight over the federal debt ceiling, it’s a good time to re-examine your risk profile and risk mitigation strategies in “treasury management”—how you manage your available cash resources, both as sponsors and on behalf of your projects.

Join us for a discussion around investment and internal cash management policies and practices, as well as strategies to protect your deposits and other cash assets, such as the Intra-Fi Cash Service, and Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service (CDARS). We will look at how protections are provided by banks, as well what you can do to shore up your resources.

We will be joined by special guest, Dara Kagan, who serves as a First Vice President of Social Impact Banking at Amalgamated Bank. Bringing to bear her additional past experiences at the National Institute for Reproductive Health, the New York City Council Speaker’s Office, and various political campaigns, she provides innovative financial services to mission-oriented clients. She sits on the boards of Community Food Advocates and The Feminist Press. Dara received her MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and her BA from Smith College. Dara is a co-chair of Amalgamated Bank’s LGBTQ Pride Employee Resource Group.
